The Certificate of Compliance consists of an electrical inspection of a premises to make sure that all electrical circuits are safe to use and the premises comply with electrical rules & regulations SABS 10142.  It does not cover items that fall under general maintenance.  The Certificate of Compliance is valid for 2 years and repairs can be costly so do the inspection ahead of time so you don’t lose profit on your sale.

For insurance purposes all homes and buildings should have a Certificate of Compliance covering them. Any new or additional add on’s to any premises should also be covered by a new Certificate of Compliance.
